Being tired seems to be the new trend, or should we say look? This daily battle typically gets started as soon as we open our eyes, first thing in the morning. Who’s with us on this one? We all complain about it, at one point or another, but what can we do about it?
It all starts with better sleep! Your bedtime habits have a huge impact on the quality of your nightly rest.

Here are some of our DUK Tips to help you sleep better during the night:
Get on a schedule – and stick with it!
If you only do one thing to try and improve your sleep, this should be the one! Set a regular bedtime. Try going to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning. Stop messing around with your internal clock, keeping it steady allows for you to rest better!
It is important to be able to relax and unwind before bed. This will allow you to fall asleep easier and more deeply. Allow your bedroom to be your sleep sanctuary! Keep your room cool and dark, and don’t forget to eliminate as much noise as possible. Say goodnight to your TV, phone and any other electronic devices. By turning those off you’re making the conscious step to completely “power down” for the night.
Be cautious of what you’re putting in your body leading up to bedtime!
Try to keep away from eating at least two hours before going to bed. Remember it’s a whole process to digest food, especially if it’s a heavy meal. Alcohol reduces your sleep quality, so skip that nightcap! Yes, it is also true that drinking lots of water, juice tea etc, will in fact result in frequent bathroom trips throughout the night.
Remember: how you feel during the day is a reflection on how well you slept during the night. It’s also important to note that what works for some might not work as well for others. It’s important to find the sleep strategies that work best for you!
