28 Sep Can the vape community be looking forward to better regulation?
For the past few years, the vape community has had some trouble sleeping at night with Bill 45 and stricter regulations hovering over our heads. But there could be reason to embrace some optimism as Canada reveals plans to embrace the smoking alternative and balance regulation of vaping and e-cigarettes.
Health Canada has plans to introduce a plan that will cater to seasoned vapers while at the same time guarding against nicotine addiction amongst younger Canadians. With articles earlier this year focusing on the problems of teens vaping, the Liberal government has decided that by later this fall, new legislation will embrace it has a ‘less harmful alternative’ to traditional tobacco cigarettes.
The department has also revealed that it is currently reviewing federal tobacco control and strategizing a new approach for a long-term solution.
For vapers, this new legislation could mean less stigma placed on their step to a smoking alternative. To read more about this, check out the original article here, published by the Toronto Star.
