01 Feb Copa America: The Fate of Group C
We are now entering the second week of the Copa America and surprisingly this has been a wild rollercoaster for Group C; Brazil, Venezuela, Peru and Columbia. Each team is now on equal level with one win and one loss. However, the question remains… which team will make it through to the next stage?
Our experts have predicted that Brazil and Columbia will go through based on the previous history of the two clubs. But, things are a bit intense due to the suspension of Brazilian Captain Neymar and the inconsistency of Columbia defense.
If there is ever a time for a star player to step up, it would be now, and the player would be James Rodriguez. Still scoreless, Real Madrid’s young star needs to step up and show the world what he can do. Just like he did in the 2014 World Cup. Rodriguez can be a game changer if he can get more touch with the ball.
This brings us to our next point. We can’t help but ask ourselves why Brazilian Head Coach Dunga didn’t play the super star defender David Luiz? AND why is Thiago Silva not the captain of Brazil? Dunga is once again showing signs that he is incapable of managing the team. The idea that Kaka, Ronaldinho and Robinho are not even playing is forecasting that Brazil is doomed to fail. Once again. Maybe not a 7-1 fail… but it appears that this team can’t go far with Dunga as their manager. Best of luck Brazil.
As for Venezuela and Peru, the whole world wishes you the best. GO UNDERDOGS GO!
